Thus by some cosmic miracle, Earth may just be the only planet to allow the external manifestations of life. And although we cannot exclude the possibility of extraterrestrial life, to our momentary knowledge it seems, in this vast universe, mankind alone enjoys the highest potential for consciousness. But man made destructive forces endanger the very existence of life on Planet Earth. Humanity, seemingly gone completely mad, is polluting and killing its own "life support systems," poisoning air and water, burning forests and extinguishing animal friends. In addition, we are killing ourselves in endless wars, for nations which may not exist tomorrow and for gods nobody has seen. A mad, mad humanity on Planet Earth. We inherited Planet Earth—"GAIA"—with clean air and water, with an unpolluted blue sky above, a garden of wonder, in which to live and explore the mysteries of life and death. There is little time to undo the damage and begin the healing of GAIA, to recreate the harmony that once existed in the spirit of love and consciousness, to avoid the ultimate environmental holocaust. There is no God in the sky, there is no messiah waiting, there is only us to do the healing. It is only here that a new earth can be created and only this moment in which to do it—here and now, to carry human life into the future. For this new Earth, a new man will be needed. And he and she are now in the process of discovering inner transformation and meditation, signaling the beginning of another age—of one world and one humanity.
