KECO
Flutist Keith Coker

Flutes are present in every
culture around the world. They represent the wind, the air,
the vibration of the upper register and the higher chakras.
We have merely to invoke the tuning, mode or scale used by
any given culture to reawaken those countless memories of
our human past. Keco. |

Keco's
solo and collaborative flute music is simultaneously
haunting and inspiring. With his diverse array of ethnic and bamboo
flutes and woodwinds from around the world, Keco's music can invoke
a mood of ambient spaciousness or of lively playfulness that ushers
the listener into a metaphysical and soulful journey that transcends
time and space.
Trained
as a classical flutist, although referring to himself as an improvisational
musician, Keco played with the acoustic folk band Exit 65 and has
received acclaim as flutist with the world music group Native
Descended Nation,a Florida based musical ensemble of artists
and musicians who incorporate performance and musical elements from
a wide range of traditional influences including Native North
and South American, Middle Eastern, Asian, Celtic and Africaninto
their repertoire.
Inspired
by
his friend and flute guru, Windham Hill recording artist George
Tortorelli, Keco's artistry and concert performances are experiences
of the heart that are not to be missed. Keco's gift to his audience
is the experience of poetic resonance and outstanding musicianship.
