The
performances of flutist Jane Hoffman have become a very special
part of the social scene in West Florida.
Jane
enjoys her seasonal performances with the Sarasota Opera,
the Craig Turley Orchestra, and many other concert series
at home and abroad. She has become a very special contributor
to the musical scene in West Florida, has performed in Mallorca,
Spain, at the Miller Theater at Columbia University in Manhattan
with the Contemporary Chamber Players, and was a fellow in
the Sarasota Music Festival. She has also studied in Nice,
France.
Over
the years Jane Hoffman has developed her own unique style
as a professional musician/flutist. Her mastery over the most
intimate aspects of tone, articulation, and vibrato makes
for rich interpretations. She is not only admired for her
playing of classical music, but also as a skilled jazz musician.
Her execution has the kind of refinement of tone and technical
assurance for which she is well known.
Dr.
Hoffman, a past faculty member at Humboldt University in California,
has a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from SUNY Stony Brook,
NY. She is on the faculty at the Suzuki Institute School of
Music, is adjunct teacher at Sarasota High School, and is
also on the summer faculty at Interlochen Center of the Arts.
