Growing up as an
American Indian of Nanticoke Cherokee descent, I was taught
in the old ways of caring for the Earth and honoring all living
things; to be a keen observer of life and spirit. When I am
dancing for you I share with you a very personal part of my
heritage and my feelings of elation. My traditional cultural
upbringing is beautifully portrayed as I dance and share my
music with you, conveying to my audience, whether at public
schools and colleges, community groups, Pow Wows, or for television
viewers, the power, depth, and magnificence of the Native
American Culture. The dance heals me and those who experience
it. When you attend my performances you will be taken on a
memorable journey into the spiritual and physical foundation
of each dance.
In
addition
to
a variety of traditional dances
my
presentations
are rich in oral history and folklore. I
recently enjoyed a successful dance tour in England and Germany
and am now looking forward to programs in the United States,
as well as an upcoming tour to Japan. My native flute music
has been included in my performances. Whether performing in
the United States or abroad, I look forward to creating an
event for you that will be a powerful and rewarding experience
in your community.
Come
with me in the Spirit
of my ancestors; enter this sacred circle and feel the power
of our ancient songs
