| Every
decade welcomes a new and endearing wave of World Music that reflects
a beautiful synthesis of cultural voices that are transformative
and powerful; often bringing a new musical experience to the western
ear, and a new emotional experience to the psyche.
Dragonfly
is a Rising Star on the World Music scene in North America
and is leaving a profound impression on all who experience them.
The group is an exciting and soulful musicians' collective that
has grown from the vision of
didgeridoo and percussion artists Lindsey
Dank and Jeremy Lembo; both bringing a vision of environmental consciousness,
spiritual discipline, and a philosophy of cross-cultural harmony
to their presentations.
The
catalyst which brought the group together as a collective was their
meeting at the Joshua Tree Didgeridoo Festival in Southern California.
The festival is the focal point of the didgeridoo revolution in
the United States.
Performing
with an assortment of aboriginal instruments and using the voice
in a manner that is emotionally impactful and haunting, Dragonfly
takes its audience on a journey
into the Dreamtime of the Australian Aborigines, whose musical instruments
hold center stage at the group's presentations and educational workshops.
Dragonfly is also producing a CD of their music, which is designed
specifically for use in sound healing modalities. |
